Une copie scannee de la declaration est disponible -------------------------- To the attention of all participants of rallies held in the Arab Republic of Egypt ATCE, Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt, is the unique Egyptian National Federation officially recognized and empowered by international federations such as FIA and FIM in regard to rallies and motor sports events in Egypt. Reference to the latest developing issue around the cancellation of NPO Sphinx Rallye for 2010, ATCE’s duty is now to interfere in order to protect his own interests as well as the ones of sportive events duly organized under ATCE’s umbrella, including but not limited to the well known Pharaons Rally, directly impacted by this conflict. ATCE would like to inform all pilots and rally lovers about the misconduct of NPO Company, which acted in total disregard for federation ethics and regulations: • NPO officially announced organizing a Rally called “Sphinx Rallye” supposed to take place in Egypt on September 11-18th 2010. This announcement was made without having received necessary clearances and authorizations from both ATCE and the Egyptian Government. • NPO posted false information and advertisement on their website, aiming at attracting potential participants to their own “Sphinx Rallye” in September instead of participating to the “Pharaons Rallye” in October, said by them to be cancelled. • Meanwhile ATCE officially notified both FIA/FIM that NPO does not have any official approvals or authorizations for the “Sphinx Rallye” and that the rally in September will not take place. • On May 26th, 4 days after the official notification from ATCE, NPO issued a press release on their website informing that the “Sphinx Rallye” was cancelled due to the “State of Emergency” declared by the Egyptian Government. Referring to the “State of Emergency”, which is in place in Egypt since 1981, is a weak response and unprofessional behaviour from NPO aiming at hiding the fact that NPO simply did not receive any authorizations for the organization of the “Sphinx Rallye”. ATCE would have been delighted to welcome another rally on Egypt’s soil, provided that the organizing company – NPO – would have respected the rules and not tried to harm the Pharaons Rallye by scheduling their rally in September, just a few weeks before the Pharaons Rally. ATCE deeply regrets such situation which is harming both participants and Egypt as a welcoming country and would like to invite all sports enthusiasts to come discover Egypt with the 13th 2010 Edition Pharaons International Country Club Rally, organized by JVD International and official race of World Cup FIA and World Championship FIM, taking place as usual in the Egyptian desert from October 2nd till October 10th, 2010.
